Pink Floyd has sent more people to space than NASA.

Who needs vocals when you have Gilmour on the guitar?

Probably one of the most underrated Pink Floyd songs in my opinion. Never gets old.

I was a political prisoner in one of the most infamous prisons of The Middle East (Evin prison, Tehran, Iran) for a year and I was so desperate to hear this masterpiece of a song. I called a friend of mine who played the song on his laptop for me. The phone was extremely noisy and shitty, but I cried and cried nevertheless. The first song I played after my freedom (about three months ago) was this beauty. Thank you Richard Wright and David Gilmour.

I lived about 40 miles away from Chernobyl (straight line) and turned 11 only few days before the catastrophe. Got a bike for my birthday - happiest day ever. Remember riding it even in the rain. And then my father started getting worried because Voice of America radio was saying there was a nuclear accident not far from us. Soviet news said nothing and meanwhile life went on, we played outside, while military helicopters were flying overhead every 15 minutes carrying huge bags of something. And then few days later we heard the news. Next day the streets were empty - everyone sheltered in place, just like the government told us. Few days later we watched a funeral procession from our windows - a truck carrying two lead coffins. They were only 18 - new conscripts. Sent to fight the fire with nothing more than overalls and a gas mask. Both died from radiation poisoning - mere weeks after starting their mandatory military service.

I have been a PF fan since coming to America in early 90s - we were the lucky few who got to immigrate to the US only 2 years after the disaster. I just saw this video and connection to my childhood brought so many memories. I honestly cannot believe that I have not seen this video even once until today, having listened to this gem so many times before. Haunting and yet touching. It brought back so many memories. Wish I could go back and see them perform this live again...

A moment of silence to everyone who haven’t heard this beautiful masterpiece yet

This song is magical, and it isn't because I've listened to it on repeat for literal hours at a time before, but because it's never grown annoying, dull, or tiring in those hours. This is therapy.

Pink Floyd aren't just a band, they are an experience, the music slips into your soul and you will always remember how that felt.

I had this Pink Floyd masterpiece played at my brother's funeral... hardly anyone knew it but were mesmerized by it... I was so pleased to send me old bro out with the sound of such an uplifting musical score, I knew he would've loved it !

Im 15, and I listened to this song today during class for the first time, after liking all of Pink Floyds other albums. This is so beautiful, and is defidently up there on my list now. Its amazing how much more powerful we can be with other things besides words, and sometimes they arent needed. You can hear the underlying meaning in every note, and the sharp crisp tones. It makes me stop and reflect for a bit, thinking about how precious everything I have is, and how much I love my world, my family, and my savior. They just dont make music like they used to.

I want to thank you for this sacred piece of art. "Marooned" was a mantra to me during my chemotherapy; the only music that calmed my soul and eased my pain. I literary breathed its every single note. This song is already my life soundtrack along with Wardruna's "Kvitravn" and Einar's "Kvervandi." I love your work. You are the reason for thousands of people to live this life. Other civilizations would definitely be jealous of us for having you. Peace and love to the world.

Played this for my grandfather before he died last month. He got me into guitar and bought me everything from Marshall amps to pedals and guitars, so it’s only fair that I at least had played his likened one song before he passed...

With this David Gilmour proves that a guitarist is not great because of how fast he plays, but rather how he translates his feelings and vision into his own guitar.

My dad is from Chornobyl, he was involved in extinguishing the fire at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. My mother is from Pripyat. She remembers all these places well. Especially the wheel. If I'm not mistaken, it opened a few days before the accident.Deep memories when you watch this video.. and of course David's mysterious solo
