Childbirth was so risky at that time! So sad she died at the age of 21. Thank-you for the terrific video 🌸

Such pretty portraits. Such a short life. All her wealth couldn't buy her a long life. At least La Grande Mademoiselle survived to cause quite a stir!

The princesse de Montpensier - I loved the movie with Gaspard Ulliel and the depiction of the Duc d'Anjou. I also remember the fact, that the actual Montpensier kept a pair of scissors close to her, so she could cut the King's hair to send him to a monastery. Thanks for this video. Very good!

The Bourbon family has been present in all France history even when the Valois were on the power. The house of Bourbon of Marie is now extincted, Probably Phillipe I de Orleans had so much fun with all that fortune, I love your videos xo

Died at 21, she was so pretty and wealthy. Childbirth was deadly back then. Men were lucky that way. Wish she had lived a long happy life.

Hate to say it, but La Grande Madamoiselle deserved every hardship she endured. The hubris - the chutzpah dug her own grave. The lady was fortunate, Anne of Austria spared her life . She might have gone to the block.

All that money and all they do is die. Doesn’t help you then.

Why did her daughter never get betrothed or married? Or could she not have kids or suffer with miscarriages?
