Ukraine accuses Russia of shelling Kherson evacuations – BBC News

Ukraine has accused Russia of attacking evacuation points for those affected by the Kakhovka dam breach.

Both Kyiv and Moscow have accused each other of targeting evacuation points in the Kherson region

Rescue teams and volunteers are continuing to head out on boats to salvage anyone, or anything they can.

Their efforts are punctuated by outgoing artillery fire.

Every military annalist: This dam blowing up helps Russia in this war, not Ukraine.

Every structural annalist: Dams are over 200 feet thick concrete structures, you can't just break one with a bit of artillery fire. This needs very large amounts of explosives planted inside of the dam to cause it to fail like this, explosives Ukraine could never just casually slip into Russian-occupied territory undetected with.

Russia: I care so much about the people affected by this that we are firing at the rescue teams

I dont think that playing dumb, is a part of being a good news organization. Why should we pretend, that there is some kind of a mistery about who's actions led to Kakhovka disaster?
Russians had full control of this lockation for a very long time. Ukrainians warned in October about russians mining the dam. Even if for some bizarre reason Ukraine wanted the dam destroyed, they had absolutely no way to achieve this. This kind of damage, can't be coused by artilery..This was clearly an explosion of the main bairing structures from inside. Many hundreds of kilograms of exposives had to be used.
