Let’s talk how to get to and stay at Maui for free.
Most beginner travel hackers transfer Chase’s Ultimate Rewards to Hyatt due to their phenomenal redemption value.
There are two Hyatt resorts on Maui and I went with the more family-friendly Hyatt Regency Maui.
In November 2023, I booked 7 nights for early June 2024 at 30k points each, totaling 210,000 points. Had we paid in cash, it would have cost us $6,258!
I earned 80k points from getting the Chase Sapphire Preferred, 60k points from Chase’s World of Hyatt card, and 75k points from Chase’s Business Ink Cash.
For airfare, my husband utilized the Southwest Companion Pass benefit, which gives him free travel with me every time I fly.
Both my daughter and I each redeemed 38,000 Southwest points per person for roundtrip airfare.
Had we bought the tickets using cash, it would have cost $2,031 in airfare for the three of us.
