Mexico 'will not pay for US border wall' - BBC News

Mexico will not meet US President Trump's demand to pay for a border wall, the country's president has said. In an address to the nation, Enrique Pena Nieto said he was saddened by Mr Trump's plans and added that "Mexico does not believe in walls".

Some of you say that Mexico will pay via trade tariffs. But that would be Americans paying, not Mexico.

When the US increase those taxes, Americans will get more expensive
TV:S, Avocado, Tequila, and so on. The American people will have to pay
20% more for Mexican things. So, in the end, Americans are paying if he
does it in that way.

Mexicos president just laughed when he said that he would increase
taxes. Something like: "OK, enjoy your expensive tequila", was his exact
words.
