Dike Okoh interviews his tech mentor Tim Yates (head of R&D at Drake Music) about Max MSP. Tim worked with Dike as part of his Drake Music Emergent Commission, helping him to create some bespoke technology which could be used to explore the idea of signal flow and interruption in his live performance.
Here Tim explains Max and how they are using it.

Dike's commission involved creating a new piece of music to investigate the relationship between audience and performer. He wrote an R&B song which took inspiration from the idea of the interruption of brain signal flow and brain injury, explored via a metaphor of a traveller from the future. It was performed live at the Barbican in 2019.

Film by Dike Okoh.
