At least you have that new Tobii eye tracker to look around and admire the silliness of some of these cockpit designs.

I love how you call out to Chris. I share your opinion on the interior elements of the cockpit. But I also find that it adds to the immersion. It is an artifice. The impression of being in the dark is accentuated by the interior lights. And the impression of being stealthy is accentuated by the low visibility outside. It gives us the feeling of being hidden behind a bush. Sure, it's not efficient, but like many other details, it's not a mistake.

Damn, The more videos you make, the more it shows that Chris Roberts isnt as competent of a game developer as we thought! Thanks for the tests!

I don't use Twitter, or I would follow you. Nice video as always.

I don't have an Eclipse but I never knew they were so fragile. This looks little better than my Buccaneer in toughness and that's saying a lot considering the price difference between the two. Still, I hope to get an Eclipse in game one day as it looks great but is way too expensive for me to buy when there are more useful things to me like the Corsair or MSR at much lower price points. Still holding out hope for my Gladiator and Tali. Funny story Camural, I landed at Port Olisar in my Gladiator and someone (must have been a new Backer) asked me if it was a new released ship as they had never seen one before! :D I guess not a lot of folk own them these days. Come to think of it, I seem to own alot of bad and unpopular ships for some reason. The curse of being an old Backer I guess.

I love my Eclipse and dont really mind the cockpit. The lights on the MFDs though ...smh.. I wish the wings folded in when in full stealth/space mode though like the brochure shows. Looks badass when folded in. Hate that its always in atmosphere mode.

Those MFDs are to let you know the cockpit isn't fully closed:)

I kind of like the cockpit view. Maybe thats because i have a freelancer. Its much too expensive for it to be so flimsy. I dont think vanduul bombers will be so flimsy. Thanks for doing these videos 🙂

The British Vulcan Bomber I think had a narrow view

Camural, would you recommend the eclipse or the tali?

As far as cockpit view goes, I think it's a toss up. CIG is correct for making larger ships that have a terrible view through the window. Any real large aircraft today is designed with the idea that the primary way to fly is by using instruments and not looking out the window. looking out the window is mostly for taxing on the ground and a visual confirmation that you are on the correct glide path to land. I would also add that a stealth bomber almost exclusively flies at night and very high in the sky which also would have no need for a good cockpit view.

With that said we are currently restricted by the in game cockpit tech to fly by mostly looking out the virtual window. The way we do it now is completely unrealistic. In terms of realism, space flight or combat would have no need at all for cockpit windows. Look at SpaceX Crew Dragon cockpit. There are small side windows that are purely for human enjoyment and photography. the actual flight relies 100% on tech and visual displays to tell us what to do.

CIG is trying to go both ways. realism and fun fantasy experience, but in doing so there is a lot inconsistency. I'm not saying it has to be one or the other, but that by trying to do both it is very hard to make it believable.

I agree with you on an overhead light for the MFDs. that is just dumb and someone really got lazy on that one.

Camural, thanks for making these videos. I have a request - Could you test the actual IR/EM and stealth mechanics. I see people all the time citing information from erkul, like the Talon/Prowler 30% EM/IR emission reductions, but when I tested with a friend we concluded that there is no reduction being applied, and that "Suppress all IR" has no effect either when it comes to player vs player interactions. Did we do something wrong, or is this not actually working like everyone assumes? I'd like to see you do a test on the subject.

Eclipse = hit and run. Of course it is hard hit.😉 Stealth gameplay will be even more important in future. Especially in PvP or against stronger targets. I am looking forward to get killt by torps which come from nowhere. 😅

I think there's a case to be made for the Shrike being the best stealth bomber..?
