Man, he still has Sage Mode. Maybe not as powerful as when Kurama existed, but considering how he beat pain using that mode, he's still strong enough

I still remembered when Naruto said in Shippuden that gives me chills

“ A Hokage is the one that endures all the pain and suffering. They take the lead and walk forward and the others follow them behind. They walk not on their comrades corpses but a path that leads to hope”

He endures a lot for his people and family but has to act tough so people around him don’t panic

Notice how Sasuke and Sakura were both worried how he would react. I’m sure he felt broken but has to put on a front to bring hope.
