This program enables groups of 5-8 everyday Americans to form private sponsor groups with the goal of welcoming refugees and helping them become self-sufficient over a six-month period. The group supports the refugees by securing housing, greeting them at the airport, enrolling children in school, helping adults find employment, and learning to navigate life on their own.

My best friend's mother helped a refugee through her church. She had not long lost her husband and her church encouraged her to take help someone. She had a good lifestyle and home. Within two months the refugee had stopped her visiting her family. He became hostile to her family when they visited the home. The family discovered he was selling her belongings, even her wedding ring. In the end they had to physically remove him from the home and reported him to Police when he became threatening. Think twice before inviting any refugee into your home.
