I have enjoyed your videos for a couple of years now, and finally I must comment. This stuff is incredible! Miraculous! I had two broken head bolts drilled out last year and the metal shavings from the work laid in my boat. When it came back from repair I had a rusty mess. Just today I cleaned it all up so effortlessly. Thank you for being so kind to share your knowledge.

A few screws rusted and stained the inside of the trunk on my Corvette. Yes, fiberglass. Couldn't remove the stains for all the tea in China. Watched your video then went into the shed and pulled out a gallon of Goof Off that sat on the shelf since my children were toddlers. Stains are gone like magic. Thanks for posting.

For polishing rusty chrome try a crumbled up ball of aluminum foil and some chrome polish. Works wonders for removing rust. And I doubt it’ll leave little bits of metal to rust since it’s aluminum. I use that on my Harley

Oxalic acid, or "wood bleach", can be purchased at most paint supply stores (Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, etc) in powdered form for much cheaper than pre-mixed stuff from big box stores. I mix about three or four tablespoons with warm water in a quart sized spray bottle. spray on, let sit for 5 minutes, rinse off. done.

I saw others using toilet bowl cleaner for this too. It worked great inside my plastic swingback cooler seat but not so well inside my fiberglass livewell. I'll give this stuff a shot too.

I want to left a pair of steel pliers on my dashboard for the week! When I went to the marina the following weekend after all that rain there was a huge rush spot on my white gelcoat! I used a product called FSR which stands for fiberglass stain remover! I usually apply it with a foam brush let it sit a few minutes and wipe it off! As for cleaning the stainless I use bronze wool and Flitz aluminum and stainless steel polish! The bronze wool is soft enough that it will not leave any scratches on your hardware! Those are the two easiest and fastest ways to keep your boat looking new, And they require little to no effort!

Thanks. For those in places where this brand isn't sold it is basically oxalic acid (with a bit of hydrogen fluoride thrown in)

I know this video is 3yrs old, but RustAid is now $18. There is a cleaner at Dollar Tree called "LA's Totally Awesome All-Purpose Cleaner, " at $1.25/ 20 oz. So for $8.75, you can get slightly over a gallon today, 2024. Just FYI!

Thanks for all of the videos @Born Again Boating

I don't know about plastic but I restore cast iron skillets and I use white vinegar. Works great and it's cheap!

4 yrs ago I started using Ceramic coating on my boat... no more rust stains, no more pitting, washing it is a breeze and with most of them you can coat everything, chrome, aluminum, plastic, glass, paint and gel coat. Most say it lasts 3-5 yrs but I’ve found it’s more like 2-2.5 yrs.. it will change your life for the better. Definitely school up on how to apply and take care of it and it’s time consuming compared to wax but a lot less physically demanding than applying wax.
