There are some folks who have gotten confused. The Evermeans are genuine monsters, not Yiga. Especially because you can find them all over the depths covered in gloom. Then you have the Yiga who are disguised as trees. Some folks have been thinking that all the walking trees are Yiga, when it’s not the case.

I am noting how peculiar it is that even when in the midst of monsters, the Yiga will not remove their disguises if it means trying to take Link down. Near Robbie’s former lab in Akkala, sometimes disguised Yiga will caught in the middle of a battle between Link and Moblins. And they act like terrified travelers until you actually go and talk to them
