Just brilliant, I was always sort of confused in terms of open /closed-loop gain difference... not anymore.

isn't the gain just A and for closed-loop gain just Rf/Ri ? What you have worked out is the output voltages no?

You expressed that open loop gain is Vcc. But Gain is ((+) input - (-) input)*A. I think output voltage must be -Vcc. Is it true ?

thank you for your sharing, very clear and elegant.

Just quick question, should V1 be -2 Volts? Since the positive terminal is grounded and the negative terminal has a voltage of 2 volt, so V1 = 0-2 = -2V?
Thanks a lot, the video is quite helpful tho

But this must be an axception because in ideal opamp the voltage at the inverting & non inverting terminals is considered to be the same. But here while the inverting input has -2V, the non- inverting is at ground or 0V, why is this?

Good video to understand the key concepts of open loop and closed loop gain in Op-Amps.

Hi Michael, I have troubles of understanding the output voltage for open loop gain. Shouldn't V_out = A_open(V+ - V-)? I understand V- = 2V, but with that plug into the formula, should you get -4E5 V for V_out? Please let me know if I understand it incorrectly. Thank you so much!

Hello Sir, I would have a question. Comparing the ideal and real op amp... we are mostly talking about open loop gain which is in ideal case infinite. I am wondering... is there any possibility, even with a closed loop to have a gain into minus infinity? How does it looks in ideal and real op amp? Or better to ask... is there any case when we have negative infinity gain? Thanks

It can’t be the closed loop gain That’s the ideal gain

Wait. Wouldn't Vout for the open loop gain be negative since the input voltage is going into the negative terminal?

Which one is the open loop gain ? Just A or A*V1 ?

how do you get the open loop gain when its not given?
