Overrated or Underrated: Yu-Gi-Oh DM Characters

I take a look at some Yu-Gi-Oh DM characters that get selected from a randomizer and let you know if I think they are overrated or underrated, I hope you all enjoy!

Nah bro idk what type of bootleg version of duel monsters you watched but Mai came in clutch a lot, especially when they got to the castle. She offered the gang like half her star chips, convinced Yugi to keep dueling after his second duel with Kaiba, AND she swooped in and gave Joey her copy of glory of the king’s hand when Bandit Keith swiped that shit. Mai da 🐐no🧢

Mai in DM when you see the original series without censorship, was a down to earth character who helped Yugi to not have fear of losing anymore. She is an honourable opponent. I really didn't care in the past for her, but right now I respect her as a great character and a marvelous duelist. 👏🏼

Mai's deck is one of the few in the series that was close to being competitive. She's literally the only character who knew what backrow removal was.

I disagree with mai being useless. She helped both yugi and joey in duelist kingdom, (tried to have a good peptalk with yugi considering he was still hesitant after his traumatizing rematch with kaiba, and gave Joey her tournament pass after bandit Keith stole Joey's while he was sleeping.) Even in battle city, mai tried to encourage Joey to not lose his resolve while he was in the tournament, (the first was when Joey felt extreme guilt for nearly killing yugi while under mariks control, the other was when odion was dominating him and was about to surrender.) Not only that, but if mai was able to control Ra without the Egyptian hieroglyphics, she would've been able to defeat and would've have been the first and only female character to defeat a main villain of an arc in a duel. (I don't count her duel with pegasus in the seal of orichalcos arc because at the time he wasn't a villain.)

Mai is underrated. Her deck was really the only deck that didn’t need the heart of the cards plot armor to win. If anything the show did her dirty several times to make her look more like a damsel

Weevil is underrated. Narratively Takahashi had to get rid of Exodia somehow

Mai is my favorite, she deserved better.

Mai is so underrated she is good Character but nobody knows I know At the beginning I hated her, but she is really wonderful in the manga, the anime darkened it a lot Even the English dub but still she so awesomene.
Kaiba too He is loved, but not everyone understands the depth of his writing Damn the censorship.

Joey is slightly underrated.

Mai is perfectly rated in my opinion, her dueling skills might have been eh but her as a person was pretty great

Pegasus is underrated, he was a villain but I still somehow liked him as a person

Kaiba. Perfectly rated, he's such a drama queen and I'm here for it

Weevil. So So So So underrated. Some sort of devastating scene would happen and weevil and rex would make me laugh. He's better than bandit Keith, he was kinda flat, and rex.

I met the voice actor for Joey wheeler did you know that he only was the voice for the first three seasons and makes a return in yugioh GX as syrus?

Mai was a decent duelist she would always make it deep into tournaments and even kaiba acknowledges that she's a good duelist most of her duels are just plagued and ruined by plot where she has to lose because of the plot. She would have beaten marik if that ass pull of needing an anthem to unlock a fricking card wasn't there but that's the plot at work.

I feel like all of these are basically spot on, Mai deserves better. But women in yugioh typically become side characters or worse. With only Aki really get much of any spotlight and even then they dropped her after half way and kept teasing growth and development but never committed
