I've been sole provider for 34 years. The vast majority of those years was making less than $40k/yr. It is doable but you have to do what you have to do. 26 of those years was working 2 jobs. There was almost always a second job but 20 of those 26 years was growing my own company in my basement. It's still a small, home-based business, but it supports my wife and I very well. We have a better life today than I ever thought possible. My advice is to pray for wisdom in every decision, trust God for everything and work, work, work.

So right on Jade, lost my self-confidence while I transitioned jobs and moved at the same time, took awhile but I'm back in it to win it! Ty

I want to get on the show. I've left a message a couple of times and it's a very good question that we really need help with.

lol that accountant that called in I get it public accounting can be hell. Left for the fed and never looked back. It’s stressful and no one really talks about how many hours you have to work when and billing hours you might have to put in 80 to bill 40 especially when you just start out and don’t really know what you’re doing. But I think he would probably like the personal finance side of it, I wish I went that route because I love it so much now.

James- the role you want absolutely exists. I’ll be hiring this year. Just work for a private practice accounting firm where you are able to work more directly with clients.

Careful with that 401k rollover to an IRA. Better investment options, but you also screw up the ability to do backdoor Roths in some cases (which DID apply to them).

Aaron from Des Moines IA, you need to check your wife bro. You're out there slaving to $200k a year while she sits at home spending your pay check. She wants to keep that 2nd house next to a relative?...then go out there toots and get a job that pays for it.
