Seiko's had numerous "firsts" in the watch realm, but I'll stick to three, in rough order:

— Laurel: Ostensibly Seiko's very first wristwatch, introduced in 1913.

— 6139 Chronograph: arguably the *very* first automatic movement. (Sorry, Zenith )

— Astron Quartz: This one pretty much speaks for itself.

I like to believe the tank is based on the earlier designed british tanks (mark I and later models}. The Renault entered production at roughly the same time as the watch.

Santos was the first MEN's DEDICATED wrist watch. Men put pocket watches in special straps before and women, well, they had horological jewearablery looong before that.
