This mummy gets better health care than all of us, timely too, and doesn't pay taxes

The first time I saw Sylvester, at the old curiosity shop in Seattle it freaked me out, I was 12, now his history intrigues me. I'm 59.

So much for resting in peace. Archeologists always complain about grave robbers but actually they are doing the same dam thing. Disturbing graves.

I would be curious to know what the official guide lines are for exhumation, the time limits? When does disturbing a grave become Archeology, when does ' resting in peace ' end.

I couldn't imagine 'Sylvester' would have ever have thought that he would end up in a display cabinet in a shop. It doesn't seem right.

For ya’ll in the comments complaining about the format, these are slapped together so that they can be very long in order to be heard in the background while you’re doing something else or when you go to sleep. That’s why instead of careful editing, they put the name of the program and each separate clip. So that if you’re interested, you can go back and look up that particular episode.

As an Egyptian whose hometown is in Al Minya, i had already known about the whole dna test. BUT it feels so nice and validating that now the common westerners have now known this too! Also, it has been confirmed that Tut and Ankhesanamun are not direct siblings and that the queen's dna matches Huya and Thuya and they are her grandparents from her mother's side and the lady in kv35 is indeed Kiya, ie, King Tut's mom and is a direct sister to Akhenaten and mother to king Tut. Therefore, Ankhesenamun is not related-fully with kv35 also proving that that lady is *NOT* Nefertiti. People seem to have some false beliefs regarding that family, esp those who seem to have all kinds of opinions on their race, relations, etc, but had never set foot in my country. As well as that 1 lady who, in the name of Egyptology, damaged a 3000 y/o mummy in her quest to proof the wrong woman as Nefertiti. Salam a sukran~ ♥♥♥

The most tragic aspect is "The Maiden, " who was so delicately laid to rest with her possessions, the treasures her loved ones wished her to have in the afterlife, and now she lies on display in a glass case. It's profoundly sad, incorrect, and disrespectful. Gazing upon her evokes heartbreak, a longing for her to return to the resting place her people chose for her. No one has the right to do what is being done to her.

I like how it's always "stolen", when they don't find it first. But when they take it, it's not "stolen".lol

It also kills me, of how the Archelaeologists are always STARTELED about this or that.

I love documentaries, and though at the start I found this kind of confusing with it jumping between different topics, in the end I believe this is one of the best documentaries I have seen in a very long time!

I learn so much watching these documentaries. To think if I could have paused and replayed my teachers growing No fr, I learn way better when material is presented in a story-like narration and these videos just draw me in like I'm really there! Keep up the great work!

Mummification was done to protect the other people in the bunkers. In Egypt, they were walled up in their rooms. Long term bunker use would require a plan for those who pass before it’s safe to exit.

What is this like several episodes chopped up and spliced into 1?
