Recently visited the rock and roll HOF in Cleveland. The had an area set up with drums and guitars called The Garage where you can play instruments. They equipped the room with this player series bass and I was so impressed I bought one.

I got the impression that Fender knew they needed to step up their lower end basses to compete with Sire. My plan was to buy a Marcus Miller bass, but when I went to my music store and tried out the player series, I left with the buttercream jazz! It's heavier & bulkier than my Ibanez but that sound!

Just picked up one of the limited edition Ocean Turquoise P basses and its fantastic. Easily the best P bass Fender has made in decades, and one of the best in their history, its perfect IMO.

Literally picked up one of these exact buttercream P-basses yesterday from 2020. Still had all the plastic and stickers on it. It feels amazing and I am blown away by the quality. Can't wait to run it through my 1974 Acoustic Control Corporation model 450 full stack on the weekend.

I just got the same P-Bass in Tide Pool! Love it! Was looking at a used 60th anniversary mim, but I loved the neck and sound of the players series so much, I didn't want to take a chance on something I didn't try out. It's definitely an upgrade from my Std mim Jazz I got 20 yrs ago, especially in the the fret department! Thanks Rumblin Man for the great vids,

Very well done. I've been debating if I'd put forth the time and the money to go into a six month payment plan with the Player Series, but it just seems so worth it. Mexican made Fender instruments are top notch and I've always wanted a great Fender P Bass, quite a bang for the buck if I might add too. Also, kudos for the review. You're already a country mile ahead of all the other corporate reviews.

Just picked up a Player Series P-bass today at CG. Went back and forth for awhile between that and a J-Bass. Love them both but the P-bass 'player series" had more thunder on the lows and mids, and great growl on the higher end, and with a pick. So much dexterity for a passive bass. It's going to quickly become my go-to.

I just got one in Sunburst with maple neck. There is no duplicating the Fender sound even though there are some great basses in this price range out there. I also have had a Sire V7 and have a new Sire M5. Even with its outstanding preamp with almost infinite tones, I can’t get it to sound like a simple Fender P bass. Great video.
