Just to clarify this is just like pretty much any other external hard drive. It's not specifically just for gaming at all. Personally I use it to store movies on and then plug it in TV to watch them. It's the format and partition type of the drive that matter.

They're good performance but seem delicate so don't drop them. I tested it when I first got it and remember it had fast read speed and write speed but can't remember exactly what. For games I imagine it's the fast read speed that matters so it doesn't lag. The writing part is installing the game which is done just the once.

Looked at all the canvio drives on nthe toshiba site and they all seem the same except the name plus the flex comes with usb c cable. They all have max 5g/s transfer speeds. Went with the flex as it has the extra cable.
