Nobel Prize 2024: ‘Godfather of AI’ Geoffrey Hinton Shares Nobel Prize In Physics With John Hopfield

The 2024 Nobel Prize in physics has been awarded to two scientists, John Hopfield and Geoffrey Hinton for their fundamental discoveries in machine learning. British-Canadian Professor Hinton is often referred to as the "Godfather of AI." Hinton, however, has also expressed fears about AI’s future development, cutting ties with his former employer Google in order to speak more freely on the issue.
