Getting cute notebooks has been such a game changer for my motivation

For the "homework assignment" at the end, I like to do it at the end of every calendar year. I list significant life events, school, friendships, my interests, and political events of that year before seeing if I accomplished my goals from the previous year and setting the next ones. I only give myself the first day of the year to work on it, and no more than two pages. I've been doing it for six years now and it really starts putting life into perspective after a while. So if you find the homework assignment helpful, try to make a fun new habit out of it!

Well beyond my "student" years, but still...as a writer, I endorse a lot of what you say here, in terms of making your workspace welcoming to yourself and changing your location when you can! I'm lucky enough to live in a large(ish) metro area with a lot of libraries, so going to a new one to work once in a while is a joy. And the library in this video is beautiful!

As someone who's about to end the uni journey, I second your thoughts about romanticizing school as a way to level up the fun of our mundane activities instead of making it all about aesthetic and create unrealistic expectations. Romanticizing has helped me a lot throughout my uni years!! I hope we can live up to our own romanticized vibes and not be discouraged by what others seem doing <3

For me romanticising life has alway been about being present in life as well as understanding that your life truly is yours and making it look like it too ("look" as not just aesthetics but the feeling it gives you). Sure, we all have responsibilities but also most of the time we have ways to make doing what needs to be done more like us yk? And to get back to the aesthetics side, at least for me its a very big part of being alive, as having a pretty looking set up instantly makes me more happy to study and an outfit I think looks good makes me also feel good. With aesthetics I can help my brain to get in the right mood and living my everyday life feels so good.
