I have to say that Castlevania (outside of the Lords of Shadows which also has platforming) is an platforming series in general. Every game puts you to the task of not making that one mistake on the jump before a Medusa head gets in your way and your mad at yourself for not remembering the damn placement of those heads.

Sonic 2 is a great game, but it's just silly to me for someone to put it over Sonic 3 and Knuckles. S3&K has so much more variety, better boss fights, way better music, better chaos emerald stages, and you end the game by destroying the Death Egg and flying through space as Super Sonic. There is literally nothing in S2 that can compare.

Joe Hendry remembers classic games which is awesome. Those were the games we all remember if u are 30 years old and younger 80s babies stand up. Also he sounds like a nice guy.

Good list! I'm one of those people that prefer Sonic 2 to Sonic 3 and Mario 3 to Mario World. I also concur with other commenters saying that Ducktales really deserves a place on the list. If I'm being honest, I'd have probably stuck Castle of Illusion on there as well. Truly a list that could have easily been made a top 20 with every game on the list being utterly brilliant.
