Typo 2 for iPhone 6 vs. BlackBerry Classic - Is it a copycat?

Earlier this week, I was sent the Typo 2 case for iPhone 6. And, while we don’t ordinarily review accessories here on the PhoneDog YouTube channel, I felt I had to get one to see if it really is the BlackBerry rip-off that the Canadian tech giant says it is.

To the untrained eye, it might look like a BlackBerry's keyboard, but close-up it doesn't look anything like one. It's more square, the keys aren't as well separated and they don't feel the same when you press them.

Did you ever use the original Typo? If so, how does it compare to the Typo2? Whenever I finally upgrade to the iPhone 6s, I'm dreading having to give up my original Typo case. I love this thing and I hate they weren't able to carry over the design to the 2.

Why would one carry both the Classic and the IPhone 6? Of course I probably shouldn't judge too harshly as I carry both the Classic and the Nokia Lumia 830, but the 830 is a backup ( it uses the uncommon nano sim too ) as well as my primary camera with its 10 Mp Pureview! Excellent reasons!

I really don't see the point in something like this when the touch screen on any phone now a days is pretty accurate and I true hardly believe it's quicker just to use the touchscreen to text I don't even miss the old days of a physical keyboard because they were usually the first thing to wear out for me after like a year and a half of use

Just get a Blackberry. It honestly comes down to what is more important to you... Security for the Blackberry -or- fashion and wallflowering as in the iPhone.

They should just ask permission from Blackberry, pay them royalties and make an exact copy of the keyboards mechanically with software.

For the kind of money it takes to buy one of those things for an Iphone, I could settle with a cheap new phone for myself.

But meh, each to their own. I'm loyal to Blackberry.

Who cares about this knock-off keyboard!
The only thing that really matters to me is, I have exactly the same 3 movie posters in my home...except my original 1977 Star Wars is the cardboard version, which I've been told, is almost as rare as a unicorn.

....and for all of you haters out there, I LIKE Cam's accent and voice. He's charming, and so, thank you Cam!

I get the feeling BlackBerry is becoming retro cool now.
Thousands left for the fashion of the big screens, if you still used a BB you weren't cool.
Now everyone is talking fondly of the keyboard and trackpad.
Let's hope so, the Keyone now runs Android so some old BB users may come back.
I never left, love the keyboard and track pad and I am amazed at these so called smart phones that don't have a notification light?
