I just bought used a 2018 (ish) Schwinn Town and Country. It too is 3 speed, but has 26" tires and looks to be a little heavier built than the T&C built between '68 and '82. I'm 6' and 300 lbs and the Schwinn does well for me. Interestingly, my wife's Torker Tristar (pre-Raleigh) with 24" front and 20" rears feels just a little more solid than the Schwinn - that surprised me. If it turns out we use the trikes a lot, I'll sell the Schwinn and get a Sun Classic 24" 3sp. They're built for bigger riders. Thanks for sharing.

My younger Bro can't ride a bike either, Autism messes with their balance and they can lean .. It's aggravating thinking that you failed but that is how it is.. Nobody's fault.. But if a trike can get them out there, then it's a great option!

I just bought a 1982 Schwinn town and country trip wheeler. I am confused as to how the rest end differential works. I raised the back end of the trike up and pedaled the bike and only left wheel is powered. Died the other wheel only engage when it needs to or are both wheels supposed to turn equally all the time? I don't know if something is wrong with mine or if this is how they are. Thanks

Nice trikes. I have a Schwinn meridian 26". Blue in color. I really like it. I switch all summer between it and my bicycle. Trikes take a bit to get used to but are fun to ride. The single speed is good for running around the neighbourhood or getting stuff from the store. Love the huge basket

The Schwinn I got free side of road and it’s a $400 hard to find in big wheels

They aren't going to replace handlebar grips and the old Schwinn is by far the better.

OMG I finally found someone. I hope you can help me. I pulled my grandmothers 1982 schwimm town and country out of the barn and I'm in the process of restoring it. Please help me. Where do I find parts? I need to take off everuthjng and sandblast it due to rust. I'd love to have your help. Im restoring it for my 11 year old daughter who has special needs. She like your son coukd not ever grasp the bike with training wheels.
