I have the same lamp, Keystone ballast gets slightly buzzy after an hour or so of operation, original switch seems to be fine so I’m not going to screw with it! I did repaint the fixture with a glossy black enamel paint and I highly recommend doing so because it makes it look brand new and clean

F14T12 is an oddball size and hard to find. Most of the old medicine cabinet fluorescent that I've see, were usually F15T12, sometimes F15T8. the home I was renting a few yrs back, built in 1969 had F15T12 on both sides of the medicine cabinet in one of the bathrooms, preheat. Also had an F20T12 preheat undercabinet light in the kitchen. Ballasts definitely had a hum. Wouldn't surprise me if they were original to the house, old stuff was generally very rugged and well built.

I've got one just like it and it quit working. I hope to fix it someday. Thanks for posting this.

I love it! I have the same lamp, but the switch was functioning when I got it.

Because it is on a smart switch, it isn’t convenient As preheat I used a Dremel to widen the switch hole to perfectly fit a starter through. Now instead of a switch it has the top of the metal can starter, and I can watch the light show when it is starting up :)

If you are interested in getting the old switch, I might be able to find it and send it to you if you PM me. I don’t know where it is or if I kept it, but I can take a look :)

Thank you for the fun video!

Hello my Grandparents had one of these back in the day.
One day it went e.o.l. So I went to the store to get a new fluorescent light.

How do you prevent white plastic from yellowing in the presence of this?

We have an UV grow flurescent lamp in our garage and I am so afraid to store anything white in there
