Jacque Fresco - Motivation is a Science

Studies show that monetary incentives do not always improve performance, and can frequently decrease results. Incentives are often due to the beliefs that people hold, sometimes even putting their own lives at risk for them. Clearly, this outweighs the motivation of a monetary reward. Doing what people believe is “good” is a powerful reinforcer.

The Venus Project proposes an alternative vision of what the future can be if we apply what we already know in order to achieve a sustainable new world civilization. It calls for a straightforward redesign of our culture in which the age-old inadequacies of war, poverty, hunger, debt and unnecessary human suffering are viewed not only as avoidable but as totally unacceptable. Anything less will result in a continuation of the same catalog of problems inherent in today's world.

I am infinitely grateful to this man, I've stumbled upon his work in my mid-teenage years and just now, ~12 years later I'm finally starting to digest even a small fraction of what he stood for. it was this man who taught me to rethink. along with the Zeitgeist moving forward initiative and the Venus Project, proving we could. One day we will be forced by our consumer behavior to anchor this idea in people's minds. By 2050 at the latest, our time will come, the time of the utopians. the new zeitgeist and free from all superstition or political parties. When we realize that the planet is a living organism and we are the cancer ♋️

The whole concept & the components of our society are inherently flawed & counter-productive. We tend to relate & measure ability to success. This equation does not take time, place, energy & space into account.

There is no doubt in my mind that many children could go on to discover Einstein’s equations, The Beatles’ Chord structures, or Louis Pasteur’s principles of Pasteurization.

However, because these have already been discovered, there is little reason to learn the building blocks leading to these findings. Findings have already been found. And instead of the potential of finding new information, we force our children to comprehend another man’s achievements; condemning their own.

Education denies children the wonders of discovery. This is why we must at all costs breed all competition out of every aspect of our society. When the goal is self-gratification & success, there is very little gained by discovery, dissemination & co-operation. And children go on to become self-absorbed, insecure by a fake society's standards, & corrupt in attaining these things by other means of self deprivation.
