"Winterdeep" is an original dwarven song in our Hammerdeep collection. We are continuing to develop our own Dwarven legend through multiple musical compositions. We hope you enjoy it:)

We wrote the lyrics, composed, and arranged the piece. My family sang it.

Winterdeep

The snows fall in silence
On our fallen fathers
The white cloaks the violence
That fell on Winterdeep

The shadows are growing
Stretched from dark horizons
The bright stars are glowing
On the souls of Winterdeep

Begin now the vigil
Strike alight the torches
Illumine the sigil
Of the king of Winterdeep

Prepare now in gladness
the feast of yearly passage
Drive out gloom and sadness
From the halls of Winterdeep

Fill the hall with gladsome song
Shake the stones with voices strong
Line now the mine with boughs of life
Free the mind and soul from strife

Where winter’s power has lost its hold
And mighty heroes’ tales are told
Where death and darkness, ice and cold
Shall shrink from homes and hearts so bold

It is rare to find a song that carries such a level of sorrowful tone that is able to, in the same track, swing upwards into pure inspiration. Another masterpiece from the great Clamavi De Profundis! I found myself singing along to this by the second playthrough!

I've been waiting for the Hammerdeep dwarves to return, truly this is a glorious day!

I get the impression of a Mid Winter gathering where this is sung as they celebrate the turning towards spring distant though it may be all the while honoring their dead and their history.
If you ever make all of your Hammerdeep content into books I will buy them, international shipping be darned and read them with these songs in the background.

I like the lyrics a lot! One thing I had a problem with earlier Clamavi-made dwarf songs are the perspective of the lyrics. I feel like dwarves would not sing about dwarves, they would sing about them selves. This one feels like the most dwarf-perspective song from Clamavi yet.

This is probably my favourite Hammerdeep song, it's composition has a bit of a somber element to it that I love, counterbalanced against the cheer in the middle of the song. Excellent work as always!

I love these as I have loved the stories of Middle Earth since my childhood. These lovely songs and ballads epitomize all that I had envisioned for the music and words to enhance my experiences with that world.
