500 ad was NOT the end of the roman empire.
the end of the roman empire was in 1453 with the fall of constantinople.
by 500ad the roman empire was already christian for more than 150 years since emperor constantine made it state religion.
the western parts of the roman empire was dissolved and that may be what u refer to but the roman empire had already switched to the east and had constantinople as its capital.
