The Top 10 MOST BEAUTIFUL States to live in the United States of America. These places might not have the best cities or small towns but they have gorgeous nature!

In order to determine which US states are the prettiest (and ugliest), I analyze a few categories including their natural landmarks, national and state parks, Eco diversity, accessibility to nature, and quality of life. I also included my personal experiences and the pros and cons of each state

My biggest suggestion is to visit these states first to decide where you want to move to and live.

Coming from a Washingtonian, I feel like Idaho is one of the most under appreciated states for its scenery. It has beautiful mountain ranges and up north by Schweitzer mountain is Lake Pend Oreille and Priest Lake, absolutely breathtaking.

Living in Oregon has definitely turned me into a scenery snob. No doubt about it, Oregon is one of the most beautiful states in the USA.

Really great video - thanks for making it! I will say, however, that I am surprised that you didn't mention the Alvord Desert when you talked about Oregon. That place is so otherworldly that it really re-enforces the extreme diversity of Oregon. Not only is it strikingly different, but you're actually allowed to drive your car on it whenever and however you want to!

I lived in Juneau Alaska for 2 years it’s truly breathtaking I felt like living in a painting but then we moved back to Texas :(

And foreigners wonder why a lot of Americans don't care about traveling overseas.
It's because the continental US alone is bigger and quite possibly more geographically diverse than most other continents.
Add Hawaii and Alaska on top of that, and a person might never need to leave the country for a great vacation.

Colorado is one of the most beautiful states I've been to. Would love to see Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and Utah. So much different than the eastern part of the US.

Love this list! The most accurate I've found online. To all that travel this country often it's on point. If you want to have a life changing experience spend an entire month of the Summer in Alaska. Go to all the towns and major cities (including an airplane ride to the Artic Circle) and you will never forget it. Thanks for this video!

As a Chicagoan, my heart lies fully with Utah! I may be biased because I've spent quite a lot of time there, but I think the lush alpine forests in the north and red rock canyons in the south provide such great scenery and outdoor opportunities that it's hard to beat. If you ever want a canoe trip you'll remember forever, you gotta go the 130mi trip from Ruby Ranch to Spanish Bottom in Canyonlands.

I drove through California a few years ago and I was shocked about how sparsely populated most of it is, outside of the Bay Area and the LA and San Diego areas. The coast north of the bay area is empty and very pretty. And the same for the beautiful central coast between LA and San Francisco. I was visiting in January, so there were almost no tourists. And despite the time of year, it was HOT, in the 80s. When I drove up into San Jose from the south, it was very rural and then suddenly it's urban area. The scenery literally went from cattle ranches to big city in under a minute. It was very surprising.

The most underrated state is New Mexico.
It's totally hidden gem. There 3 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, largest number of all states. Netflix owns their biggest studio here. It's where they could display almost any part of the world. Snowy mountains, white deserts, praires, woods with brown bears, hot springs, caverns, indian culture...everything. One of the oldest city in the US (Santa Fe) is the capital of NM. Oldest continuously-occupied community in the US located just 60 miles west of Albuquerque. Lots of towns with wild west or route 66 charm.

As someone from Washington, I could give you some of the most beautiful towns in Washington. These are all towns that I've been to, and they include Gig Harbor, Leavenworth, Port Townsend, Steilacoom, and Sequim. I think Anacortes, Coupeville, Bainbridge Island, La Conner, and Winthrop could easily be on such a list, too, but I've never visited them, so I can't tell you for sure.

Grew up in Utah and road tripping is just a thing out west. Also lived in Oregon and California. You nailed this list. South Dakota is totally underrated. As a whole, Idaho and Wyoming aren’t the most pretty states, but they have parts that are exceptionally gorgeous. Driving the 80 through Wyoming at the end of may with a thunderstorm against the plateaus and grass fields is divine. And the hot spring areas in Idaho can be really great too. Northern Utah doesn’t get as much love, but those mountain hikes can take you to some magical places. Plus it gets you out of the summer heat. Need to check out Michigan and Maine.
