I for sure have some of these dilemmas as well. Like answering back in a different language. I would answer back in all the languages I speak, one after the other, before getting to the correct one. haha.

The biggest prob I had is :
I had a work phone call and I had to speak in French but I got nervous and answered in Japanese, I couldn't find the words in French ...

Yes! I do four all the time flow between english and spanish and also six. I usually think to myself in english but verbalize in spanish.

This happens to me a lot. They say that real fluency occurs when you start thinking in your target language but i switch sometimes without noticing
