Great video Brian. Really helpful!
Just mention that now (2021) the connection with Watson IoT must be secured. So the port has to be set to 8883 and the TLS option must be checked.

I followed your tutorial to connect Home Assistant to the Watson IoT platform and created a gateway as I have non MQTT devices. Only the gateway connects but all devices discovered via the gateway show status disconnected. How can I connect the devices and monitor/control these?
I would like to use this platform essentially as a central MQTT broker
