As an openly queer person it’s hard to feel bad for them. They basically through the rest of the community, particularly trans people, under the bus because “low taxes” are more important to them than their own community. I agree with David there’s nothing wrong with disagreeing on tax policy but to ignore the ramifications Republicans have had on LGBTQ+ communities (again especially trans communities) just so you don’t have to pay as many taxes is disgusting.

I asked the Log Cabin Republicans about their platform at Denver Pride last month. They always have a tent there. I couldn't believe how delusional and selfish they were. One even asked why I care about a woman's right to choose because, "It has nothing to do" with me. I almost threw hands over that one.

As a lesbian I cannot fathom the thought that someone could be Republican and gay… Sorry it doesn’t ever seem to work that way… In my 70s now I have seen the Democrats be inclusive and the Republicans be exclusive basically my whole life

I've known some gay republicans. I never understood supporting and voting against your own self interest for decades. They always had a very selfish world and political view that could rationalize and compartmentalize their reasoning for wanting to be a part of the GOP and were very hard to be friends with. I always knew how it would end for their loyalty. It's not surprising they are being so openly rejected by the party now. They have never been accepted by the Christian Right.

My brother is an immigrant, Asian and claims to be a Muslim... has 2 daughters... and he's a Trump supporter & staunch republican.
My ex is an Asian immigrant, a rape & incest survivor, a working woman... had marriages that ended w/ infidelity... and she's a Trump supporter.
Self-loathing and self-destruction are very prominent amongst people who can't stand themselves or where they come from...
