The autumn came. It's cold outside, I decided to plug the computer back in the hope that it will not overheat. For me it was a surprise that also disables power steering. Though now I understand. Damaged everything that is associated with the ECU via the CAN bus
Some people do not believe me and argue that the Multifunctional Display can not affect the dashboard troubles and engine performance. They say it's the battery terminals or alternator...
The multifunction display does not affect the operation of the engine. It affects the operation of the CAN network. Whith CAN, Engine Control Unit communicates with sensors and devices in the car. If somewhere in the CAN bus has damage - CAN communication is disrupted and ECU goes crazy. It may troubles or not work the dashboard, electric power steering, security system of the vehicle, the srs unit.

Diagnostics will show you fault code U1108 .. BUT she won't show you the specific cause of the error in the CAN bus !!!! In my mitsubishi, cause - the Multifunction display. It is bad soldered legs of the processor and it overheats. For this reason, in my car very strange worked the dashboard, the arrows jumped or fell while driving, glowed and flashed all the lights, error of abs and srs is not working power steering.
If it is disabled, work of all systems of the car immediately back to normal.

Man, thank you very much for the video, fixed my u1108/u1109 code issue on my Mitsubishi 2012 too. Passed smog with flying colors!!

Thanks this was driving me crazy I couldn't work out why my dash was flicking on and off and all warning lights were going off.

My display intermittently fails to show the ambient temp and instantaneous fuel consumption. As an ex tech I've wondered whether the CAN bus might possibly get totally messed up by a misbehaving controller, e.g. the display. Well, here's my answer. Big time! The display is now solidly on my to do list.

I had exactly the same issue, same error code... and also here it was that center display which was faulty. Replaced it and the demon was exercised.

Awesome! One question: how to remove that panel where the 2 airco's are mounted? I take that I cannot remove the display without first lifting that panel?

i have a 2011 mitsubishi eclipse with code u1109 and u1108. lights on the dash come on and the engine temp gauge stops working. i will try this and pray it works. thx for the video

Hello, I have the same problem. You just unplugged and then plugged in and the problem goes away ? Should I buy a new display and what you mean with “the display needs to be repaired”.

Приветствую! Столкнулся с похожей проблемой. Сам уже несколько лет езжу без бортового компьютера, так как он тоже полетел в свое время - не работал сам бк и радио. В общем то плату бк так не повез пропаивать, так езжу, без него.
Вот на неделе машина в дороге внедапно выдала значки на приборке абс и ручника, при этом сьросив скорость. Повез на диагностику, там все сбросили, сказали покатайся посмотри. На следующий день опять так же песня. Привез опять, по ошибкам считали многофункционалку и каншину. Сказали мол возможно проводка где сгнила, надо всю электрику тестировать. Короче иголку в стоге сена искать..
По симптомам:
Во время езды, когда газу даешь бывает не сразу схватывает, потом начинает помигивать приборка, возникают и пропадают ощибки абс и ручника, сбрасывается скорость. Сегодня в дороге даже руль дернуло в прямое положение при возникновении проблемы. Кольт на роботе. Бывет еще что с режима авто перескакивает на ручное переклбчение скоростей. В ночное время суток обратил внимание, что фары ближнего подмигивают, когда руль крутишь. И вишенкой на торте стало то, что она теперь плохо заводится - просто не реагирует на поворот ключа и слышно страные звуки со сторны капота.. пришлось вынуть ключ, поставить и снять сигналку с брелка, тогда завелась. Прикол то в том, что у вас на видео помогает снятие бк, либо пропайка ножек платы. А я то без него езжу уже который год и не было таких проблем. Не знаю, где копать..
