U.S. Marines across 3d Marine Division compete in the 3d Marine Division Squad Competition at the Jungle Warfare Training Center on Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 3-7, 2022.

The week-long competition tests jungle survival skills, basic infantry tactics, and excellence in weapons handling. The competition participants are currently attached to 4th Marines as a part of the Unit Deployment Program. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Sgt. Josue Marquez)

There are times I hated being a Grunt when I was enlisted, being soaked for days on end on the field, soaked and cold and having to spoon your brothers for heat like we did in Iraq 2003 in Nasiryah, but out here in the civilian world, those things I hated are the things I miss. Knowing no matter what happens, those guys have your back and you got theirs.

Very nice. Now that’s a real recruiting video. I was in the US Army. I saw the standards drop over the years. Our commercials went from ‘Be All You Can Be’ to ‘Army of One’ to the bullshit marxist woke ‘I have two moms.’

In the meantime, Russia and China continue to promote real military shit.

This commercial was great to see. Well done, Marines. Please don’t ever go woke. You have always maintained the highest standards among all the branches.

I’m just a welder by trait and i had the opportunity to do this with my Plt in Oki as a LCpl. Of all the training ive done this was the most fun one, very exhilarating. The jungle also felt like home, having grown up from the Philippines
