A modern day classic. I like this version better than the recent deluxe version they published. Plus, very affordable. I also have a fondness for games that are easily expanded by additional maps with small tweaks to rules for each map.

The Deluxe version has much better components and overall look. Plus they replace the paper money with chips. I personally would opt to use poker chips though, if you have them.

I have heard the opposite opinion about Power Grid at two player from several other reviewers due to a run away leader problem. Some suggest the robots expansion to make lower player count more interesting to mitigate this. Have you played this expansion? Have you experienced such a problem? I've only played this game once at 4 and enjoyed it so much I picked up a copy but am trying to find the best way to try a 2 player game. thanks!

With all the transactions and multiple steps, I'm thinking I'm not going to use the money anymore and just track with paper and pencil.

My favourite game, mostly due to some of the brilliant expansion maps that bring interesting rule changes and tweaks. It perfectly replicates capitalism, and it's always tense toward the end. I've lost a game by $1 in the tiebreaker before.

I have to disagree that the game scales well though, 4-5 players is the sweet spot. With 2-3 players you the board is less competitive (cannot block someone at all in 2 player) and the auctions are dull. 6 players is too many IMO, and only needing 14 cities to end the game changes the dynamic alot in terms of plant buying,
