The Swedish Fighter That America Must Have

The JAS 39 Gripen is a highly capable multirole fighter jet developed by Saab in Sweden. While not as massive or expensive as some other jets like the F-35 or Eurofighter Typhoon, the Gripen punches above its weight in many ways.

positive - you can climb to the cockpit without any external support, you can refuel and re-arm the plane in the middle of nowhere (they developed container-size mobile units that can resolve most of the common issues with a plane!)
negatives? it's much smaller than US planes, so the payload is much smaller. I would imagine their electronic warfare capabilities are also nowhere near the American's, but that's a given - USA is in a league of their own in that area.


It's clearly designed for a guerrilla war where planes can show up "out of nowhere", attack and disappear again.

The US should Build/Produce this aircraft to replace the F-16. Right now the F-16 is the weakest link in the fighter aircraft.
