This is from the CMT Crossroads TV show ~ Aldean and Seger were paired together and actually won the duet competition for Turn The Page, so watch that too ~ Hollywood Nights is actually a Seger song from his 1978 album Stranger in Town ~ The band Eagles, good friends of his, convinced him to go to LA because that's "where it was at" ~ He felt out of place; hence, Midwestern boy ~ He recorded the album there and made it a concept album, naming it Stranger in Town because it was so foreign to him and all of the songs have an element of it ~ He was renting a house in the Hollywood Hills, came back after recording with the band and they were chillin' ~ There was a Time magazine on the coffee/end table with a picture of Cheryl Teague, a superstar model at the time, on the cover ~ He said to his band, lets to a song about a midwestern guy who comes to LA, hooks up with a typical LA woman and gets wrapped up in the whole "bizzaro" thing; thus, he wrote Hollywood Nights ~ He looks at home and has the stage presence because it is his song and he's performed that song on stage since '78, plus that's his own Silver Bullet Band backing them ~ Bob just turned 78 on May 6th a couple days ago - He ended his retirement tour on 11/1/2019 in Philly ~ I saw him two weeks before in Pittsburgh and that was my 13th time seeing him live, the first was in '77 ~ No one brought it to the stage live like Bob did back in the day!! Love him, he's my all-time fav!!

He turned 80 years old 2 days ago..God Bless Bob and his music and his love for it!! One of the concerts, I HATED, because he rose ticket prices to 13.00 versus the normal 2.50 or 5.00 for front rows.. his tickets were the first to go to 13.00 for general and was like 20 for front rows...still one of the BEST concerts EVER!! Very smart of him to see how popular he was during the 80's and to make his money.. just brilliant, but sad if you were a poor school kid.... LOL
