Even if you leave, you have to move in last corridor, you have to use items, but you can't go further, Disbelief Papyrus don't disappear, you can continue fight.

Hey I've played it, just when I was fleeing and about to leave the place suddenly papyrus blocked the way out of the corridor and papyrus continued to fight again

if you flee in phase 2.5 papyrus (and Sans with Undyne) will hunt you as you run trough the whole underground untill the hole where they catch you and... wrll idk what happens there just jet

In one of the versions, after phase 1, you can:

Fight - Papyrus will block your attack and call you heartless

Act, Console - Papyrus stops crying.

(after that) Tease - Papyrus starts crying again.

(again, after that) Fight - Papyrus talks about your insults (Teasing).

(after act, console) Fight - You turn him to dust and get the "Traitor" Achievement.

Spare - Papyrus will become friendly again and you'll get the "Regret" achievement

Item (anything but the cold spaghetti) - you'll just eat.

(after act, console) Item (cold spaghetti) - Papyrus will ask if the spaghetti was good and by answering his question, you'll get the "Pasta Master" achievement.
