Garnets may be old-fashioned, but they have a special place in my heart because my grandmother (born 1916) loved them.

Garnet is one of my top favourite gem stones. And I wear them nearly every day. If I had this set, I would definitely wear them, even if only around the house. I think that beautiful, and/or stunning, jewellery should be worn, not put away.

(I'm not criticising the woman in the clip, this is just how I feel).

The royal Swedish connection is not impossible the jewellery might have been bought from part of the estate of princess Eugénie 1830-1889 who sold a considerable part of her jewelry to finance her charities.

Sad the valuation was so low.. Amazed he didn't check for any hallmarks.. and while garnets are quite common... the larger ones in that set would be hard to come by today.. I sadly have to agree AUCTION value is 4-5k. but retail would be 7-8k easy... and would insure for 10k

Garnet is my birthstone and I love them. Those look like Bohemian garnets. When I was a freshman in college that was this little shop close by and saw a pair of small garnet earrings. I purchased them for my mother as a gift. As a broken student I couldn't pay from them all at once, so the lady let me put them in lay-way. My mom gave them too me one year for my birthday. They are that deep red. I could never figure out what they were set in and there was no marking. When he mentioned 9 carat gold it makes sense that I couldn't figure out what the setting was made from. If I owned that bracelet I would wear it anywhere at any time, it's simply stunning.

Jesus...4 - 5, 000 pounds, when did Antiques Roadshow become Pawn Stars. That is a magnificent set, would have through 10 times that.

If these beautiful items were made in Sweden, they would at least have been stamped with the hallmark of the company who made them. The design doesn't look Swedish to me, but I may be wrong about it. If the stones are set in 9 ct gold, there will be no "cat paw stamp" (three tiny crowns), but it is possible that the year may be stamped somewhere.

I think it’s under valued. I would pay more than that gorgeous jewelry
