Ah, Violet Evergarden. A beautiful and stunning series! I was thinkig of rewatching it again recently.

“What is to dream my dears?” The professor asked solemnly amongst the crowd, a deft and pressured silence swept over as they waited for the answer. “No no, that wasn’t a question to have you hushed and attentive, that was a question to which requires an answer. Anyone? Anyone at all?”

“A dream is to escape.” Said one student very hesitantly, almost as if she were asking a question.

“Yes, ” the professor loudly proclaimed, “but also no. That class is an answer in where one thinks their dreams are an escapism, which yes can cause you to have a good or sometime bad sleep pattern but that has to do with sleeping. What does it mean to dream?” He asked again.

“To come up with a future goal?” Another student asked.

“Yes!” The professor said enthusiastically, “But! Also no! That my dears in which one has an idea, a motivation to see in real life something that has yet to come, and it will only come to light in real eyes after you put the necessary amount of work into seeing it in fruition. One more time class, what does it mean, to dream?”

The classroom was filled with an awkward silence, then one of the shyer students who sits in the back stood up, black ragged long sleeve with his hoody up, the professor recognized this student from another class last semester as Jacob, he has decent grades the professor thought to himself doesn’t really participate unless called on so this is a first. The professor grunts, “Jacob? Do you think you have the answer?”

Jacob looks at everyone very hesitant, and then looks to his shoes, “Dreams, can be both a method of escape, or a goal you wish to make yourself for the future-“ looks around at the class again, more nervously, “but, that’s because it’s only what you make of them. Dreams, can be, whatever you want them to be. It’s because of that right, that they are so unique as well sometimes.”

There comes a silence with a few students snickering at the comment Jacob gave, Jacob begins to sit back down in embarrassment. The Professor breaks the tensions, “Now I don’t see why any of you are laughing, that is the first time in the last decade that I’ve had a student finally give me the correct answer on the first day! Thank you Jacob, you are correct! You see class, the reason I did not take the first two answers, even though they were correct, it was because they were supposed to be filled with, as Jacob answered, what you make of them. The first two who answered were unsure of what to make with the question. Therefore I could not take something that was given half-hearted. Which brings me to lesson and expectation #1 of todays class! If you follow anything in your life, ALWAYS, give 100% of your heart into it. So that you may always know that you tried everything you could, even if you failed in the end, the amount of knowledge and wisdom you gain from it will excel you into something better! Welcome to General Philosophy 101! Let’s begin the new semester shall we?”

Sometimes i dream about that. Yes, that world. Medieval world where virus kill everybody, war happens every single day, but people were...humans. I dreamed about an awakening in that world. I wasn't alone. People were just people. Every second...every moment were special. Castles were beautiful...and life was precious.
