These battles are the only reason sim racing keeps me glued behind the wheel

man, honestly, was I was watching, I thought "well, if you move to the inside, he could just take the normal line, and switchback as you go wide", you surprised me with one of the best dive bombs I've ever seen! 🔥

First thing I did in iRacing was take my time and try to get up to next class of racing. But I learned nothing sitting in the rear and quickly went back down in rating.
Next, I raced hard but fair, took about 3-4momths (instead of 3wks) learning tracks, getting brake zones down, and the feel for MX-5. B
ut now I'm competitive in my bracket and can get my elbows out when appropriate. My only beef is that it took me till my 40s to discover my love for racecraft.

I think the inside take works here because it a double corner, normally when someone dive bombs they brake later and exit corner slower, they usually have to just position themselves in front of the overtaken car and block the race line so they won't regain position Max Ver always does this, and because his car is even tuned to oversteer and is faster on corners makes him master of thus art. if the defenser catches on that before the corner entry, if they know the attacker will probably do that, they let them have the race line and they brake even earlier than usual allowing them to have a faster exist and retake lost position right aftet the entering the apex. Leclerc does this to max on some corners. but here the defending car can't do that, because he can't accelerate again after the apex due to the second corner, forcing him to brake again right after existing the first corner eliminating the possibility to retake position. I think the best way for him to defend in this corner is for him to align himself in the inside of the track before you, causing you to brake and not have the option early entry we takked about due the double corner.

What I like to do in gran truismo 7, gt4, gt3, gts and other gt games besides brake checking is to brake later to over take them in turns.

Having raced at RA in a real car, I can say this move was in fact, the right choice. Well done.

This is more awesome when you know this circuit and you are aware that if you make a mistake you will go directly to the sand and will lose not just the first place but could also cost you 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th if there are more cars 1-3 second behind

I didn’t read the tags first so I was very surprised at the quality of the video

I enjoy Laguna Seca turn 2. You play mid they jump inside. They'll overshoot and you cross to inside to take the position back. They usually lose a bunch of momentum and you get a nice gap by t3.

I was taught to place my car just slightly behind the lead car and watch his brake lights. When those lights go on, brake yourself. The reaction time, at that speed, is enough to move your car up one place!

I was just doing a formula 1500 race(I think that’s what it’s called) and was in the same position as the guy in front of you. Stayed more middle but the guy decided to use me as a brake and took us both out last corner. Glad that guy was respectable
