Probability Comparison: Chances of Dying At The Age of ____

Someone once said that the only certainties in this world were death and taxes. We look at tax rates with some interest, but give death rates much less attention, except when they are forced on us by some catastrophe, societal or personal. For that reason we thought it useful to have a reminder of the chances of dying at different ages.

Let's not forget that life expectancy figures are AVERAGES. In other words, if the life expectancy for a given group is X years, then 50% of that group will die before that age and 50% after. For example, if 50% of the people in a given community died in their first year of life, but the other 50% all lived to be 100, then their community would have an average life expectancy of 50 years, even though almost nobody is dying AT 50.

Secrets to living a long life? Good genetics. I've seen people who eats healthy, don't smoke and don't use drugs and still die of old age at 60-70, and there's people who skips breakfast, starve themselve, drink alcohol and smokes but still lives to be 90-100.

I had an aunt who was my mother's friend. My aunt passed away because of a heart problem. She was only 56 years old when she died. She died early. My grandmother is 80 years old and she is fine and happy. My grandfather died at the age of 93.

My grandfather on my father side passed away in 2010 with 85 years old due to diabetes. grandmother on 2021 with 96 years old owing to aging. Even seen such a long lifespan I still afraid I or my schoolmates might suffered some sort of sudden death anytime in future, even though only one case happens in hundred millions everyday.

Dying happens to people of all ages. Even newborn babies die. My cousin Abigail died at birth. Her oldest sister, my cousin Elizabeth, died at 36 years old. Billafunda is over 1, 000 years old and he's still living.
