Customers React To Trader Joe's Controversy Over 'Racist' Product Labels

Trader Joe's has said it will take action following outrage about its product labels that included names like "Trader Ming's," "Trader Jose" and "Arabian Joe." Brittney Hopper reports.

“The Trader Joe’s branding is racist because it exoticizes other cultures – it presents ‘Joe’ as the default “normal” and the other characters falling outside of it, ” the petition says. There's just SO much wrong with this statement. And the petition was started by a high school senior... unlikely that he's even travelled outside the States. No well-educated person that's seen the world would say something as silly.

Most people, even those from the referenced cultures, don't care about this. It's just a small vocal segment of the population that's fetishized being offended.
