SAR video formed from the public GOTCHA data collection [1]. Using rectangular windowing, polar formatted, axes in meters, top 50 dB shown. Four degrees used per frame, three degrees of overlap. Generated in Matlab.

Is there an approach to generate the imagery using Blackman-Harris windowing (instead of rectangular) to eliminate the cross artifacts?

Fast backprojection is conceptually a simple algorithm, but getting the details right is complicated enough that people have to spend a lot of money/time on it. So, yes, I do know a lot about fast backprojection but no, I can't share anything :(
