In the Orion constellation is a Nebula labeled Messier 78 (M78) or NGC 2068, but more commonly referred to as Casper the Friendly Ghost. It is a reflection nebula lit from the brilliant stars behind and within it. This gives it the somewhat eerie ghostly appearance. I photographed this with the Orion 190mm Maksutov-Newtonian Telescope and the Orion G26 Camera. The location I photographed from is a beautiful canyon in Southern Utah known as Snow Canyon. The canyon walls help limit the light pollution and create ideal conditions for astrophotography. I hope you enjoy this short as I enjoy sharing the hobby of astrophotography and exploring the night skies, distant galaxies, the wonders within the milky way, and the neighboring planets within our own solar system.
