Singaporean academic: Reduce U.S. dollar dependence for currency diversification

The U.S. Federal Reserve announced a 50 basis point cut to the federal funds rate on Wednesday. U.S. interest rate changes often disrupt the global economy, said Lawrence Loh, director of the Centre for Governance and Sustainability at the National University of Singapore. He urged countries to reduce reliance on the dollar and diversify their currency use.
