I bet not many will understand the Adidas/Puma joke. The two companies have been founded by two brothers in the city of Herzogenaurach.

Hello a German here! About the different types of schools: You can always study later there are so many secondary schools. Apart from private schools, school and study is almost free.
We also have dual education here: practice in the company plus school for theory.

Over 300 kinds of bread indeed is remarkable, but he forgot a 0 there. It's actually over 3000 different kinds of bread.
And Germany isn't a large country. In fact it's not that much bigger than New Zealand actually.

16:33 If you make a reaction video about Germany, 80 % of your viewers will be german. (Additional to your normal viewers)
We just love to see people react about us... it is a phenomenon and whole reaction channels have been created on this obscure fact.

6:09 fun fact about the "Reinheitsgebot" three days before they brew beer, in the 15th century it was forbidden to pee into the river close to the brewery. And the rule is still part of the "Reinheitsgebot". 😂

8:33 there countless different dialects in each state has multiple dialects, often we have regions where you can find town/villages close to each other and they may'd have different dialects...

11:00 it's called "Wirtschaftswunder" not what he had written there🙈

since you lookso confused with lowr saxony being farther north than regular saxony - its about elevation, lower saxony is closer to the sea and thus at lower sea level hence "lower" saxony

Hi. Greetings from Germany.
The basic school system with "Grundschule" for children 6 to 10 and afterwards worked quite well. At the end of "Grundschule" children and parents get advise which kind of school the children should best go to depending on their performance. If the is too easy or too hard, you are able to switch the school (with some regulations of preconditions). Overall you can say, students from "Hauptschule" mainly do more basic jobs, from "Realschule" more advanced jobs and from "Gymnasium" advanced jobs or they go studying.
Besides the classic German school system there are some forms of integrated schools that don't differentiate as much between the children's performance and provide most of the educations of the classic school types.
For education there are different forms of job education. We got on the one hand the "school educations" and "university educations" where you simple learn the stuff needed for the job on a specialised school or at the university. Besides most job educations and some university educations are taught in the "dual system". This means you go half of the time to school/university to learn the theoretic knowledge, the other half of the time you are learning at a company. There you learn the practical and company specific knowledge. And you will get a small salary aswell.
I think the system works quite well. And even if you went to the "Hauptschule" it does not mean you will have to stay in badly paid or basic jobs. I know several persons that started with finishing "Hauptschule" for their "Erweiterter Hauptschulabschluss" (advenced Hauptschul education level), switched to "Realschule" for 1 or 2 years, made their "Erweiterter Realschulabschluss" (advanced Realschul education level), did their job education in the dual system and afterwards studied ontop of this. But the mostly common ways would be education or

Hello from Frankfurt to the tornadoes, they are not as big and bad here as they are in the USA, for example. nice video interesting to hear it from the point of view of a German with a nice accent

and in Germany the dialect already changes from city to city, sometimes even from 6 miles away

Just to give you an example: I startet in Grundschule (1.-6. grade) then I went Realschule (7.-10., Technology), Fachoberschule (11.-12., Applied sciences), Fachhochschule (Social Working) and TU Munich (Master in Political Sciences) paying nothing for tuition….I was working as Journalist, Editor at large and Producer for German newspapers, production companies and broadcasters….not bad for the youngest kid of four from a poor refugee family….That’s Germany!😅

1. You can always switch to the other type of school if you are qualified, even in 6th grade already (Middle school starts with the 5th grade). 2. It is like a level system. If u have a good Hauptschul Graduation (Ends with the 9th grade (15 year olds most of the time)), you can go to the realschule for one year or instantly to the gymnasium which should take u another 3 to 4 years. You cant make the wrong descision if your grades are good

With the school choice you can allways change it if its to much for you or if you are good enough to go to a higher school. You can even add them together.
I myself entered a Realschule first wich is the middle ground school he talked about. But when I finished that school I wanted to study and just added 3 years on a gymnasium to get that higher level.

Lower saxony is sitting only on a MAP higher then saxony.. because maps are North directed. It's called lower soxony because it's sitting at nearly sea level and saxony is higher up in a mountainous region.

„Lower“ Saxony in this case is probably referred to the height above sea level. So „regular“ Saxony is actually more elevated than Lower Saxony.

The good relationships between specific regions at the borders and their neighbor countries is also supported by the „Schengen-Abkommen“ a agreement in Europe to stop border controls, so within most of the EU and Switzerland you can drive without being stopped at a border once. That‘s why especially at the borders people cross them to go shopping or take advantage of cheaper prices at the gas station. Danes for instance are often coming to Germany because in Denmark alcoholic beverages are way more expensive than in Germany. 😉

5:25 If you see my comment now, I'd like to inform you that we in Germany had 3 tornadoes just on May 20th this year in the west of our country. The largest one raged through the city of Paderborn, left a path of damage about 5 km (more then 3 miles) long and 300 m (0.2 miles) in width. There have been no deaths but over 40 people injured with 10 suffering from severe injuries and one woman very life threatening.
