NOTE: THIS VIDEO IS TWO YEARS OLD! This was previously a Patreon only video, figured I might as well release it now for those interested, as 14:30 onwards potentially interesting talk on financing stuff like this etc.

Tour of the new EEVblog lab space right after I got the keys

9:10 "is this going to turn into a dump like the current lab?"
I have to recall YES on that one! :-)

And moving back to old lab feel warmer: It's your own property Dave, smaller but you can do whatever you like, and most important old lab don't have water leakage.

before renting the old place, make sure to make it to scale and paint it :-)

Seeing this old video again makes me miss Dave 2. can you tell us how is he doing? Do you still have contact with him?

I love the layout. It's perfect with both open office space and individual office dividers. I think you will be very happy in this office and I feel in my popping crease that your fecundity will continue to flow like jojoba oil along a vinculum of infinite length or longer when you move in.

You also have all our best wishes with you in any case and the good will of people can be a powerful and refulgent adjunct to any successful business.

I wish you unbridled success in this new rented office space and uncommon feelings of pleasure and potency in your own popping crease!

BTW Do you have a video of the place *after* you moved in? Best wishes.

It looks like three phase to me, hence the triple main breaker. I suspect that the 1st end-load breaker connects to phase A, the 2nd phase B, the 3rd phase C, and the 4th back to phase A.

You could use glassmarkers and dump the whiteboards, we do and they're really good

probably a window sprinkler or cooling sprinkler... is there a beam or emergency staircase to protect behind the window?

Stoked on your behalf, the new place looks pretty sweet! Looking forward to see how the new setup will be.
Separate offices will be nice, I'm sure. Having your own permanent workplace is quite important imo. You can probably improve the acoustics in the editing office anyway.

Listening to the financial side of this makes me realize all the mistakes I've made in my life.

It would be better to get hangers for your good lights and hang them from the fittings. You can easily move them around to find the best spots, but they're out of the way as nothing is on the floor.

Sprinkler is for fire separation due to the atrium adjacent (within 3m)

Another way to hang your whiteboard would be to just take two wires and attach them to board and two of the thin 'beams' holding up the inner roof plates. Since the whiteboard doesn't weigh much and you would attach them close to the wall where the 'beams' are secured it should hold up just fine

Seems like you just moved. I guess time flies. Good luck with the new location! Me personally I hate moving but one good thing about moving is you get to go through stuff and toss out or give away things you no longer want, need or desire to have.

I've lost track of all the labs. But I remember the garage ;)

How well did your decision to rent age now that we've been hit by COVID? 4% or 5% return on investment isn't very good, I'm getting better that that just on dividends

Phew, I was getting worried about the dumpster room. I didn't know that David was back in the eevblog lab with you. Didn't seem all that long ago that you moved back to the 50 sq m lab. Exciting times.
