In my opinion one of the biggest differences was the addition of big bodies for our depth lines in Klim Kostin, Bjugstad, and Desjarnais. These lines used to scramble to even keep the puck out of the oilers zone but since these guys were added its made an incredible difference. Anyone would be terrified to see a 230 lb 6’5” crazy eyed Desjarnais flying towards them.

Ekholm has made the biggest difference. He’s helped defence and that made nurse into the great defenceman that he is.

This team reminds me of the 2006 Oilers, they play for each other and the city. They get it, and love that the city's love for the game. I think we are going to the final dance.

"Here come the Oilers!"

Once a term of ridicule, now a phrase of FEAR BABYY

I honestly think this season's Oilers squad may be the best assembled team of the last decade+. You've got the high end talent in McDavid and Draisaitl plus a supporting cast of some bonkers value contracts. I mean, you've got Nuge, Hyman, and Kane at bargain bin contracts, plus the support of players like Nurse, Ekholm, and Bouchard (still on ELC). The vibes around this team right now are downright filthy. The run to the conference finals was just a taste for them - they're hungry and want more. They might be the deadliest team since the 2010 Blackhawks...

Great additions of big men in Desharnais, Kostin, Ekholm, and Bujgstad. Good subtractions in Barrie and Bison King equals tremendous upgrades by Holland. Plus the emergence of Skinner as the backbone stopper will make the Oilers a tough team to beat. They not only look tough but have played very tough playoff hockey the last 2 weeks. Looking forward to seeing them make some noise this year!

The best thing that happened this year is not McDavid, it’s this channel being a thing. So clean and good

Don’t forget Nick Bjugstad…the forward depth this guy has brought to Edmonton is immeasurable, helping Nugent Hopkins big time.😊

Edmonton all the way, McDavid is just incredible and the fact they have three different players to hit 100 points is absolutely insane, they could split all three of those players on different lines and have 3/4 lines with a 100 point scorer.

As an oilers fan I’d be disappointed with less then the conference finals and I’m just hoping to see them play in the cup finals that would be epic.

Oilers vs Bruins would be a banger cup final

If they can shield Skinner well enough to keep his composure and confidence high, this team could go to the SCF. Would they beat Boston if Boston made it there as well? It's certainly possible.

EDM handled BOS very well in their two meetings, and have the best record in the league since the trade deadline. They aren't a team of young kids anymore. Merely making it to the conference finals and being humbled in spectacular fashion by the Avs last year, is actually a huge benefit for them in this year's playoffs.

I wouldn't bet on EDM against BOS in the finals, but, I wouldn't bet on BOS against EDM either. It would make for one of the best SCF's in many years, and would certainly be must-see TV for any hockey fan. These two teams exchanged 3-2 regulation victories against each other. Everyone should want to see them match up in the finals, imo.

We'll see how things unfold over the coming weeks.

Honestly, I agree with that. They've been on a super hot streak since the trade deadline. The players they got from that are really helping out.

I think they're going all the way this year. Bruins are really good too but something about this Oilers team just screams winners and they're clicking at the best possible time

most exciting team this season without a doubt, i hope to see them claim what they deserve they have really come together the second half of the season.

We can win the whole thing now! My confidence level is at an all time high now. Even Jack Campbell is playing better with all the new additions we added at the trade deadline. However, we are going to go with Skinner the rest of the way to bring it home.

Awesome breakdown 👌🏽.
The Oilers are going the distance.
I think we'll see a previous '06 match up in the finals.
Oilers vs. Hurricanes.

We’re talking about skinner as a rookie possibly caving to pressure, we were saying the same thing going into our last cup final against cam ward and look at what he did against us and every team before that
