The new Everdrive 64 X5 comes in at a lower price than the X7, but also is missing some features. I believe this version is meant to replace the V2.5 due to EOD components.

Just picked this up myself. I would have liked to have paid a little bit more for having to reset without saving, but $170 was too rich for my taste.
Krikzz is the man though. I own 3 of his flashcarts now and they're all great. There are cheaper options out there (some of which are good alternatives), but Everdrives are the most reliable around.

If you're coming into the retro scene without any games but you have the console the "steep price" of the everdrive is worth it many times over. I have SNES, n64, GB, GBC, and GBA and if I wanted all the games that I could feasibly buy with the given budget of these carts combined, I'd maybe get less than 50% of one of those systems (probably the top 10 list on the n64 and that's it). Games are disappearing into collections and/or dying from use. This is the only way I feel safe about playing and it's more cost effective for me to hoard consoles for parts vs going after all the game collections.

Honestly I love that it has a battery bug I think that in all honesty the 2.5 is the best, won’t die after a decade and is still compatible with like 95% of the games and also supports rom hacks and gameshark codes just like the others

I'll just stick with the ED64 Plus off aliexpress for $40 lol, Some sellers even offer a 16Gb SD card full of Games.

Man $100 is the right price for sure. I'd get one but I pretty much have all I've ever wanted for my N64 in physical form already. However if I had to get all the games I have now in the current market today I wouldn't hesitate buying one of these. N64 games have now hit their retro prime and all I can find in the wild now are sports and wrestling games.

It all really depends on if that one guy ever fully translates Animal Forest eventually. Because if he does, I'll definitely be beating myself up over getting the X5. And he has already done a vast amount of translating already from what I can tell...

I have my 2.5 from like 6 years ago, still working just fine, i use It at least 3 days a week. There are patches for the non compatible games like Pokémon Stadium 2, Banjo Tooie, Jet Force Gemini, and a few others i don't remember.

My first ROM cart was the ED64v3 too. The R5 also got me into retro gaming after I realized it sucked on my CRT. Similarities!

so its similar to the Everdrive ED64....which I believe is a clone for about $70 USD. I got one last year and it worked exactly the same way. At least with this product you have some sort of customer support if it breaks or bricks.

I just got a 2.5 for Christmas. Still happy with it even know a new one came out. Lol
