The easiest way to understand is certain gene expresses eye color. Allele is the actual color like brown, black, or blue. I hope that helps to those who are confuse.

My ex-husband has a Ph.D (from Northwestern University) and did Genetic Research for P&G. He made medication for them. Now he works for Pfizer.
He always thought it was hard to understand genetics & immunology, which made me feel better about not understanding anything.
I have a 2-year paramedic level knowledge of Microbiology & immunology.

One gene would represent eye color. Allele would be brown or blue. So allele is the flavour of a gene.

This actually is not confusing. It has been made confusing by giving different names for almost same things. This also applies for chromosome, chromatin and chromatid.

This video should be compressed to be 2 minutes long.  75% of the content is him saying the same thing over and over again.. IN exactly the same way, which is to say, he's saying it in exactly the same way, the same way he says it before.  Over and over, about what his image is referring to.  the image he's pointing to, is the same way, as the other things.  Over and over again.  So what I'm trying to say, is that the video should be shortened because he's saying the same things too many times.  Which is to say he needs to cut that out because it's too repetitive.
